Acta Marine has announced that two of the company’s DP Multicats will work on Egypt’s Zohr natural gas field for a second year, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The specialist vessels are able to operate in ultra-shallow waters and will enable the laying of pipeline closer to the shore. They will also be deployed to assist with logistics and anchor handling.
“We have four pipe pulling operations planned for the coming months – all taking place in extremely shallow waters,” said Sinclair McWilliam, Acta Marine’s project manager.
“However, these two DP Multicats can work in waters as shallow as 1.5 meters,” McWilliam added.
